Shipping plays a critical role in the global economy, transporting 90% of world trade. Vancouver, as a major port city, has benefited tremendously from this global shipping industry.
The challenge is that the global shipping industry also accounts for 3% of global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and that figure is set to grow dramatically.
