Webinar: Green Shipping Corridors

Along with 21 other countries, Canada has recently signed on to the Clydebank Declaration for Green Shipping Corridors, a commitment to hold the increase in the global average temperature to well below 2°C and pursue efforts to limit the temperature increase to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.

The signatories of this Declaration have committed to moving from individual pilots to comprehensive programs of zero-emissions activity spanning across oceans, namely, Green Shipping Corridors. The creation of these specific trade routes between major port hubs where zero-emissions solutions have been demonstrated and are supported is a major step between global collaboration to tackle climate change, but begs the question- how do we get started?

Join us Thursday June 9th at 9:00hrs PST to discuss the very important topic of Green Shipping Corridors.

This webinar will break down this ambitious topic into manageable bites focusing on definitions, scope and possible partnerships that can be built in order to act together and demonstrate that maritime decarbonization is possible, while unlocking new business opportunities and socioeconomic benefits for communities across the globe, with experts from outside our province who are working both in and on Green Shipping Corridor development and implementation.
