Cheers to our First Year!
On May 5, 2022, we came together as a community to celebrate our cumulative successes as an Association. At the beautiful Loft at Earl’s Yaletown in Vancouver, British Columbia we shared libations, made connections, caught up with old friends and toasted our first year (in person!).
Our work is achieved through cross-sectoral innovation, collaboration and eco-system building actioned through VMCC’s commercialization Program, Operation Flagship, and regionally, nationally, and internationally based industry partners.
We were fortunate to hear celebratory toasts from our Sponsors, Bonnie Gee, Chamber of Shipping, Christine VanDerwill, Radicle Climate Smart, Dorota Kwasnik, Vancouver Fraser Port Authority and Alex Greig, AES Engineering. We were also joined by Minister for Jobs Economic Recovery and Innovation, Minister Ravi Kahlon, who congratulated VMCC on a victorious first year. Over the past 12 months, we welcomed over 56 members to VMCC, launched Operation Flagship, the Green Shipping Strategy, held the 2nd Annual Fall Forum and the 1st Annual Ship Owners Summit, established 5 Industry Working groups and onboarded 12 Joint Industry Projects, with 3 pilot projects deployed.
