GreenShip 2022: Thank You

Thank you for an amazing fist conference!

On November 29th, the VMCC hosted it’s first in person conference at SFU Harbour Centre in Vancouver British Columbia. A total of 164 guests attended from across Canada, the USA and Europe. GreenShip was this year's only conference in Canada focused exclusively on maritime and shipping transport decarbonization.

The main themes identified as pertinent to address during this event were inline with regional and global trends and included, Green Shipping Corridors, Technology & Design, Alternative Fuels, Enabling Policies and Regulations, and the impacts of decarbonization on Finance and Business.

We were fortunate to have partnerships with Lloyds Register Foundation, Invest Vancouver, BMO Radicle and a collaborative partnership with Canada’s Ocean Supercluster to develop content, source speakers and bring this event to life.

Key note speakers Andy Harris, Marty Reed and Deborah Harford set the tone for the event, inspired attendees and challenged listeners to think beyond their traditional knowledge threshold.

The VMCC is an industry led coalition dedicated to accelerating the transition to a zero emissions shipping industry in the province of British Columbia, Canada.

Our work is achieved through cross-sectoral innovation, collaboration and eco-system building actioned through VMCC’s industry-led Steering Committee, Work Groups and our technology commercialization program, Operation Flagship, as well as regional, national and international industry partnerships.

The VMCC has strategically engaged all corners of industry to realize a net-zero shipping and transport industry. Our membership consists of 63 industry leaders—ship owners (national and deep-sea), regulatory & classification societies, academia, engineering design and consulting firms, innovators, original equipment manufacturers (Canadian and multinational), industry associations, ports, terminals and shipyards.

Thank You to our sponsors without this event would not be possible.
